An 89-year-old supermarket owner was found dead today — with his hands bound with plastic ties — inside the entryway to his Queen’s house, authorities said.
Damaso Llano was discovered by a caretaker who was stopping by to check on him this morning at 8:30 a.m. inside the home on 43rd Avenue in Corona, sources said.
“The person who found him came out and started screaming, ‘He’s dead! He’s dead!’” said Joe Heida, 80, a neighbor.
Llano, one of three owners of the El Mundo Supermarket, was found lying on his back with severe facial trauma, and he had his hands cuffed in the front with flexi-handcuffs, cops said.
“He’s a very good man, very kind,” Juan Vizcaino, 52, a butcher at El Mundo said. “He was a nice person. It’s a shame he had to go like this.”
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
