Police on Tuesday arrested the man believed to be responsible for the fatal stabbing of a 70-year-old Bronx woman last year.

Nakia Bent was charged with murdering Lilawatee Ramsaran inside her basement apartment on Cranford Ave. in Wakefield on Oct. 9, 2016.

Bent allegedly stabbed the woman numerous times and then tampered with her stove so the apartment would fill with gas.

Firefighters found Ramsaran’s body lying in a pool of blood on the floor of her apartment while responding to a report of a gas leak.

She had been stabbed several times in the back, investigators said at the time.

Police described Bent, of Kearny, N.J., as an acquaintance of the deceased woman.

A motive for the killing has not been established, cops said.
