A hate-fueled suspect hurled anti-Asian statements at a woman in Manhattan this week before attempting to punch her, cops said.
The 25-year-old victim was walking south on First Avenue near East 57th Street around 1 p.m. Tuesday when a stranger walking a dog approached and mumbled, “Coronavirus Asian,” according to authorities and police sources.
“I should punch you,” he snarled, according to police sources.
He tried to strike her, but she avoided the blow and was unharmed, authorities said.

The suspect, seen on surveillance video walking a black dog, has long braided hair.
He was last seen wearing a three-quarter-length black jacket, dark pants and black sneakers.
