A suspect in a brutal Brownsville murder earlier this month, which was caught on camera, has been captured today in Albany, police said.
Djavan Perry, 20, was identified as a suspect by cops shortly after the April 17 shooting that left Andre Pitts, 18, dead.
On the video, Perry, dressed in a black and green hooded sweater, can be seen calmly riding the elevator with the victim inside a building on Lott Avenue near Watkins Street about 7:30 p.m.
The victim exited the elevator and as he walked away, Perry pulled out a silver pistol and follows the victim into the lobby. A separate camera captured Perry shooting at the victim, who was just beyond range of the camera. The muzzle flash of the gun can be clearly seen as Perry fires twice, then once more in a downward motion, as if shooting the victim as lie on the floor.
He was captured by a third camera, this time walking away outside the building with his hood down.
Shortly after the attack, cops identified Perry as the shooter. authorities found him early today hiding out in a home in Albany, where he was arrested without incident, said police.
It is not clear who he was staying with or how police tracked him down.
As of this afternoon. he was back in Brooklyn and he was being questioned by detectives at the 73rd Precinct.
Charges were still pending. Police did not disclose a motive for the brutal attack.
