Officers assigned to the Brooklyn North Gang Unit fired a barrage of bullets at a gunman who pointed a pistol at them Saturday night but didn’t hit him, police sources said.

The cops were confronting a group of suspects at about 11 p.m. in Brownsville when one of the men said, “Let’s unload on them!” police sources said.

Anthony Irons, 33, aimed a semi-auto firearm at the cops at Riverdale Avenue and Osborn Street, the sources said. The cops fired eight rounds at him.

Irons was arrested, and a .380 caliber firearm was recovered. Irons has previously been arrested on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, obstruction of government administration, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct, the sources said.

The officers were taken to Kings County Hospital and treated for trauma and tinnitus.
