Cops on Sunday released this surveillance footage of a “person of interest” in the fatal stabbing of a Bronx for-hire driver inside his cab.
The man, clad head-to-toe in dark clothing, was caught on video fleeing the Hutchinson River Parkway East moments after Ganiou Gandonou, 27, was knifed inside his Toyota Camry around 9:10 p.m. Saturday.
The clip shows the man running westbound along Bartow Avenue, before slowing his pace as he headed north on Co-Op City Boulevard, according to cops.
Gandonou was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center, leaving behind a young wife and a 2-year-old son.
He drove for a number of for-hire companies, including Uber, though it was unclear who he was fielding calls for at the time of his death.
Investigators have yet to publicly identify a motive in the slaying, but police sources said that it’s being probed as a possible robbery gone wrong.
The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has announced a $3,000 reward for help cracking the case.
