A man stole an ambulance in Staten Island early Monday — then swiped an oxygen tank and asthma medication from inside, police said.
The scofflaw hopped into a Richmond University Medical Center ambulance shortly before 12:30 a.m., as it was parked in the hospital’s emergency room parking lot with the keys in the ignition and the engine running, cops said.
Authorities tracked the van using GPS and found it abandoned more than a mile-and-a-half away on Cebra Avenue near Chester Place.
The suspect swiped an oxygen tank and albuterol, a drug used to treat breathing problems like asthma, from inside before fleeing, police sources said.
He is still in the wind.
