ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two New York men pleaded not guilty to a break-in and one of them also pleaded not guilty to wounding two responding police officers.
Twenty-one-year-old Nixon Elian and 22-year-old Marquise Parker, both of Rochester, were arraigned Thursday on charges of burglary, robbery, weapons possession and assault.
Elian also faces two counts of attempted aggravated murder of a police officer for allegedly firing on the two officers. The officers were wounded but survived.
Authorities say Elian and Parker entered a Rochester apartment Tuesday, hit and choked a woman inside and stole a $150 cell phone.
Officers responding to a 911 call were met by gunfire.
