A man was pulled from the water in Rockaway Beach Friday evening and is fighting for his life at the hospital, authorities said.

Lifeguards jumped into action after spotting the unidentified 32-year-old man struggling in the ocean near Beach 93st Street in Queens around 5:45 p.m., according to the city Parks Department.

He was unconscious and not breathing when lifeguards got him to shore, officials said.

EMS arrived and took him to St John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he’s listed in critical, but stable condition.

Police were seen at the beach collecting the victim’s backpack and belongings.

The incident comes just days after a 14-year-old boy drowned in the rough waters off Far Rockaway in Queens.

The teen had been swimming near Beach 75th Street around 5:45 p.m. Sunday after the beach had closed early because of bad weather when no lifeguards were on duty.

After being submerged beneath the choppy seas for several minutes, a retired lifeguard and her active lifeguard friend jumped into action to save the boy, but were too late by the time they reached him in the water.
