UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Health officials say an adult on Long Island has died after suffering from swine flu.

The Nassau County resident was over the age of 55 and had serious underlying medical conditions.

To protect the privacy of the family, the county health department declined to release any other information about the patient.

Since the spring of 2009, three deaths have been reported among Nassau County residents with confirmed cases of the disease.
