A group of congregants at a synagogue on Long Island built a long dining table with place settings for each of the hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza since the Oct. 7 massacre by the terrorist group.

Ohr Torah in Valley Stream set up a massive table for a Sabbath dinner, with a place for each of the 240 hostages still being held.

The long table, which was set up on Friday on the lawn outside the Orthodox synagogue sisters by Jackie, Ariella and Orta Lankri, has a place setting for each hostage with their poster affixed to the chair.

The inspiration came from an art installation — The Empty Shabbat Table — outside the Tel Aviv Museum of Art last month, which set up a long dining room table with white plates, cutlery and glasses to honor the hostages.

Israelis, Americans, Germans, Thais and others are among those still being kept captive by Hamas.

Similar tables have been set up in the old Jewish quarter of Rome and Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
