The Port Authority wants to hear ideas on how to expand runways and reduce delays at area airports. It’s planning an 18-month study of service at Kennedy, Newark and La Guardia.

In January, a report by the Regional Plan Association recommended building an additional runway at either Newark or Kennedy but warned that construction at Kennedy might require filling in parts of the federally protected Jamaica Bay.
