EAST LYME, Conn. — A former music teacher has been sentenced to a year of probation after pleading no contest to a sexual-assault charge involving a student.

Prosecutors say 25-year-old Amy Schneider acknowledged having an inappropriate relationship with the male student, who is now 18 years old.
