The Manhattan high school teacher busted for ordering a date rape drug so potent that it has been called “coma in a bottle” was likely peddling the dangerous substance, according to a law enforcement source.

A raid of Steven Rich’s Manhattan apartment revealed a cache of MDMA, more than 30 oxycodone pills, and bottles of gamma-Butyrolactone, also known as GBL. A controlled substance, GBL is converted in the body into the potent knockout drug GHB.

The 51-year-old teacher at Harlem’s Thurgood Marshall Academy had ordered around seven pounds of the liquid drug through the mail — and it was seized by US Customs and Border Patrol prior to his arrest.

More bottles of the potent intoxicant were found in his Hell’s Kitchen pad.

It was not immediately clear if Rich was selling the drug to students or using it himself, the source said.

The disgraced teacher was arraigned on various charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance Wednesday evening and released without bail.

He fled court with a bandanna covering his face.
