The state teachers union wasted no time hiring lobbyists with ties to Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie.

The powerful union signed a $15,000-per-month contract on Feb. 1 with the MirRam Group just hours before lawmakers replaced disgraced Democrat Sheldon Silver with Heastie, state ethics filings show.
