“Jacob, look upward to the sky,” friend Barbara Rom eulogized to 300 mourners at the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion. “And see the very brightest and shimmering star,” she added. “That will be your mother looking over you forever.”

The 39-year-old technology CEO and Lower East Side resident was one of eight commuters who died in Tuesday night’s derailment in Philadelphia.

Just two days beforehand, on Mother’s Day, she and her husband had agreed “that we have no regrets,” the grieving spouse, Todd Waldman, told mourners.

Now “we will all have a perfect, Rachel Jacobs-shaped hole in our lives and in our hearts,” he said.
