A 17-year-old boy is clinging to life after he was shot while driving on the Sunrise Highway on Long Island late Wednesday, authorities said.

The teen was driving a 2007 Honda CRV in the center lane of the eastbound highway, east of exit 39 in North Babylon, around 10:10 p.m. when someone on the passenger side of a black car fired several shots at him, Suffolk County cops said.

The shooter passed the victim’s Honda on the left, police said.

The teen, who was struck in the chest, rammed into the rear of another vehicle before crashing into the center median and coming to a stop.

He called 911 to report the incident, and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
