A teenage bicyclist was in critical condition after getting hit by a car in Queens on Thursday, police said.

The 17-year-old was going eastbound on Park Lane South near Forest Park when he was struck by a car going northbound on Woodhaven Blvd at around 11:25 a.m., cops said. The 22-year-old driver of the car stayed at the scene.

Paul Hacker, who was driving a truck and saw the crash, said the teenager was hit as he tried to cross the boulevard before the light changed.

“He realized that the light was going to change,” Hacker said. “[The car] came from behind me in the bus lane and was trying to cut back in front of my truck and that’s when he collided with the kid and put him in the air.”

“He flew off his bike,” he added. “He started convulsing – shaking and twitching. I don’t think that kid is alive, if you ask me. God is good, but I don’t know.”

EMS responded and found the young man unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the head. He was rushed to Long Island Jewish Hospital in serious condition.

Mohammad Iqbal Ali from the Cityline Ozone Park Civilian Patrol was in a neighboring building when he was alerted that someone was hit by a car. He rushed to the teenager’s side and began administering CPR.

“[We] continuously kept talking to him. He kept shutting his eyes,” Ali said. “We were able to keep him stay awake — just keep talking to him until the paramedics [came].”

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Neighbors and other witnesses said the intersection was dangerous. “[Accidents] happen all the time,” Bridgett Sharp, 52, said. “People are always speeding. They try to beat the light, too.”

“I felt bad for him. I’m praying to God he will be OK.”
