A teenager was struck and killed by a north-bound No. 2 train while trying to cross through the track tunnel at 79th street in Manhattan, police courses said.

It was not immediately clear whether the 17-year-old attempted the risky crossing over four sets of active tracks alone or with a group.

The station at 79th Street and Broadway only serves the local No. 1 train.

But express 2 and 3 trains barrel past the station on the center tracks.

One witness said the teen was crossing from the north-bound No. 1 platform to the south-bound side.
