A 14-year-old diabetic student has won a $75,000 city settlement after being falsely cuffed and then denied his insulin, landing him in a hospital, court papers show.
Richard Gonzalez said he was arrested in the shooting of another teen because he and the actual assailant shared the same nickname. Gonzalez’s charges were eventually dropped.
The city Law Department said the settlement was fair.
