A teenager was shot in the head and killed near a Brooklyn intersection on Tuesday evening, police said.

The victim, identified by cops as 19-year-old Jeremiah Dickey, was near Elton Street and New Lots Avenue in East New York at about 6:45 p.m. when a gunman opened fire at him, cops said.

A heartbroken neighbor remembered Dickey as a kind young man who was struggling because his mother recently had a stroke and he has seven siblings.

“He was a good kid. Never caused problems. Everyone was shocked,” Maria Monello, 45, said.

“There’s a lot of kids around here where you wouldn’t be shocked. But everyone was shocked when they found out it was Jeremiah. Even the guy in the bodega was crying,” Monello added.

“No mother should bury their children. His mother just a had a stroke. He said she was doing better. He has siblings. Lots of siblings,” Monello said.

He was hit at least once in the head by the gunfire, authorities said.

Medics rushed him to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The gunman ran off after the shooting and is still at large.
