A creep shoved a coed into a bathroom stall and tried to rape her on a city college campus — before managing to get away, cops said.
The 17-year-old victim went into a women’s bathroom in the library on CUNY’s Kingsborough Community College’s campus around 2 p.m. Monday when the predator pounced, according to authorities.
“Suddenly, [she] feels the presence of somebody behind her” and he “pushes her into the stall,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said.
“[He] attempts to lock the door behind her and tries to sexually assault her … but she manages to get away,” said Shea.
The teen told police she had seen him on the campus earlier but it was unclear if he was a student, according to Shea.
The girl was treated at a nearby hospital, while the creep is still being sought by cops.
“The College is taking all measures to safeguard its students, faculty and staff,” a spokeswoman for the school said. “The safety and security of our campus community is our first priority.”
Students who talked to The Post were not reassured.
“You’re supposed to feel safe in a library, not worry about a rapist waiting for you in the bathroom,” said 19-year-old sophmore Arisha Mohammed. “That’s like every girl’s worst nightmare.”
“The college really needs to look into boosting its security so that this never happens again,” she added.
Amanda Cruz, a 24-year-old freshman, said the report was “terrifying.”
“If we can’t feel safe on our own campus, where can we feel safe?”
