Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man after his mother found him lying on the floor of the family’s Bronx apartment on Sunday, authorities said.

The woman discovered her son, Jose Hart, unconscious at their home on Westchester Avenue and dialed 911 around 12:30 p.m.

Police and EMS workers responded and found Hart had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and pronounced him dead at the scene, officials said.

Police said it is unclear where the shooting actually occurred. The incident is still under investigation.
