A teen driver with a learner’s permit and his 28-year-old brother were killed in a Long Island crash Thursday night, authorities said. 

Darrius Jones, 16 was driving a 1998 Ford Mustang southbound on County Road 83 and made a left turn onto Canal Road in Mount Sinai just after 9 p.m., when his car collided with a Jeep SUV heading north, Suffolk County Police said. 

Jones was rushed to Stonybrook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. 

His brother, Darrell Jones, 28 — who was a passenger in the Mustang and had a valid license — was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was also pronounced dead, police said.

Alaina Dimaria, also 28, who was also a passenger driving the Jeep, was taken to Stonybrook University Hospital with minor injuries, cops said. 

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check, according to police.

It was unclear whose car the teen was driving, or what led to the fatal smash-up. 

In a statement, Dr. Lance Lohman, the superintendent of theLongwood Central School District, described Darrius as a “beloved high school senior” and athlete. 

“Darrius was a dedicated member of our High School Football Team and school community and he will be dearly missed,” Lohman wrote in a statement. “The passing of any student in our community is a tragedy for each and every one of us, and we offer our deepest condolences and prayers to Darrius’s family and friends during this extremely difficult time.”
