Police are on the lookout for a crew of teens who broke into a operator’s booth on a moving subway train.
Video of the break-in posted online shows at least four people in the rear booth of a No. 7 train near the Hunters Point Avenue station around 4:20 p.m. Saturday — with more than one of the kids documenting the event, according to cops and the footage.
“Yo, open it, bro, open it!” a voice off-screen says as one of the kids, whose face appears to be covered with a mask or bandanna, tries to open the rear door of the train, according to the video, which was posted to Twitter.
“I’ve done this before too,” says another off-camera voice as the masked teen uses what looks like a key to unlock and open the rear subway door, video shows.
“This is savage!” one of the kids says as the footage focuses on the subway tunnel the train is barreling through.
After pausing for a moment, the masked teen reaches over to the operator’s console and presses a large yellow button, which sounds the train’s horn, according to the video.
The horn blasts, and the children run, giggling, into the empty subway car behind them, the video shows.
The teens couldn’t have taken control of the train, because it was already being operated from the front cabin, an MTA source said.
Cops were made aware of the video at around midnight Sunday and are investigating, the MTA said.
