An upper Manhattan landlord is ignoring complaints about a creepy tenant in an effort to boot a woman from her rent-stabilized home, she claims.
Nicole Harrison has lived in Riverton Square for 13 years and claims her next-door neighbor started filming her comings and goings after she rebuffed his “unwanted advances,” according to a lawsuit.
Harrison asked landlord A&E Real Estate to switch her to an apartment away from the neighbor but says they only offered a renovated one-bedroom that was nearly double the price of her rent-stabilized, $950-a-month unit. Harrison said A&E was far more accommodating to the neighbor who complained about her dog.
A&E said in a statement it is working with Harrison and her neighbor to solve the dispute. The company said “regulatory constraints” made it impossible to switch Harrison to a unit with similar rent.
