Firefighters are helping rescue people stuck on the fourth floor of a Bronx apartment building after a stairwell landing collapsed, injuring a man.

The Buildings Department says the marble landing between the building’s third and fourth floors collapsed around 2 p.m. today. The four-story building is on East 187th Street a few blocks west of the Bronx Zoo.

The Fire Department says a man is being treated for minor injuries.

Inspectors are checking on the building’s structural stability.

A message left for the building owner wasn’t immediately returned.
