An MIT-trained scientist charged with shooting at GIs in Afghanistan doesn’t want to go back to court anymore — and is upset she has to come back for another hearing to say so.

“I can tell you I don’t want to,” Aafia Siddiqui told Judge Richard Berman in Manhattan federal court yesterday. “I’m willing to give up that right. I’m responsible for the decisions I make.”

Berman indicated he was open to having her appear by video from jail — Siddiqui has complained about mandated cavity searches before court appearances — but said he wanted to make sure she knew what she was doing.
