Santa Claus won’t be passing through Times Square anymore after this year.

Starting in 2012, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will skip Seventh Avenue and run down Sixth Avenue from Central Park South, city officials told The Post yesterday.

Macy’s says bypassing the Crossroads of the World will streamline the route.

But Times Square businesses, particularly hotels, complain it will leave them little to be thankful for.

With 7,000 hotel rooms in Times Square –many overlooking the old route — the change will be bad for business, said Tim Tomkins, president of the Times Square Alliance.

“It’s a very big issue for our businesses,” he said.

Two years ago, the Broadway portion of the route was diverted to Seventh Avenue. It then turned onto 42nd Street before turning onto Sixth. This November will be the last time the parade runs through Times Square.
