Look before you Yelp!

A Virginia woman who ripped a contractor on Yelp was ordered by a judge yesterday to delete parts of her scathing posts as the court weighs the plaintiff’s $1 million defamation suit.

Jane Perez wrote angry reviews on Yelp and Angie’s List about contractor Christopher Dietz, accusing him of stealing jewelry from her and causing almost $15,000 in damage to her Falls Church home.

Dietz filed suit in October, claiming the posts’ accusations were untrue and cost him business.

Fairfax County Judge Thomas Fortkort has barred Perez from accusing Dietz of stealing jewelry in her posts since cops investigated and chose not to bring charges.

She was also blocked from saying she won a previous lawsuit against the contractor for unpaid bills.

Perez’s lawyer James Bacon blasted the decision, saying, “It has a very chilling effect on free speech.”
