A series of ads for a Muslim-themed documentary that the MTA failed to ban from its system have appeared on trains and in stations this week.

Posters for the comedy “The Muslims Are Coming!” are now in 144 places in the transit system. The film follows a group of Islamic comedians traveling around America giving performances they hope will spread goodwill and educate about Muslims.

The ads include taglines such as: “The Ugly Truth About Muslims: Muslims have great frittata recipes,” “Muslims! They invented coffee, the toothbrush and algebra. Oh wait, sorry about the algebra.”

The MTA tried to ban the ads under its new policy that ended all political-issue ads on transit property, which was put in place after firebrand activist Pam Geller tried to run a series of controversial posters slamming radical Islam.
