Viva Dominicano!

Brooklyn Dominicans jammed into Hooper Street and S. Third Street at Williamsburg’s largest block party on Sunday, immediately following the Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan.

The pulsating sounds of the after party, a tradition spanning two decades, lasted for more than six hours. Scores of couples danced the salsa amid a sea of revelers wearing straw hats and waving red and blue flags.

Fortunately, vendors sold plates of rice and beans and sticks of skewered meat to keep the energetic party going into the end of the weekend.
