Up to 800 Canada geese are slated for execution within the next few weeks during this year’s city, state and federal goose cull. That’s about half as many birds as last year.

Efforts to get rid of the fowl fliers were stepped up after the 2009 Hudson River emergency landing of a plane that had run into a flock of Canada geese.
