Stunning video shows a brazen thief cutting into a sleeping straphanger’s pants pocket to steal the contents during an early morning subway ride in Brooklyn, police said.
The footage released by authorities late Monday shows the 28-year-old victim fast asleep aboard a northbound L train around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, cops said.
The crook is seen in the video using what appear to be scissors to cut into the man’s pants as the train approaches Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, according to officials.
Afterwards, he fled to another part of the train, taking with him the victim’s cell phone and two credit cards, police said.
The suspect used the cards to make two purchases totaling $68. He is still on the loose.
