Thief filches Torah scrolls
A thief stole five precious Torah scrolls from a Brooklyn synagogue, authorities said yesterday.
The intruder sneaked through a rear window of the Khal Yirei Hashem Synagogue in Borough Park and made off with the handwritten Hebrew scriptures worth $30,000 to $50,000 each, community leaders said.
Police do not believe it was a hate crime.
