A 1-year-old boy went missing after a thief stole the white SUV the child was sitting in on a Brooklyn street Monday evening, police said.
The toddler was inside the Mitsubishi Outlander on Kingston Avenue near Dean Street in Crown Heights when the suspect stole the vehicle at about 7 p.m., authorities said.
The suspect then drove off and took the child with him, police said.

Assistant Chief Jeffrey Maddrey of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North issued an urgent plea for public help on Twitter after the abduction, giving details about the car and urging users to retweet the message.
Police later found the vehicle abandoned, with the child safely inside.
