Two Manhattan crooks forgot the first rule of thievery: plan a proper escape route.

Two shoplifters who ripped off a Modell’s Sporting Goods in lower Manhattan thought they were making a smooth getaway — until they made their way right past NYPD Headquarters.

The juveniles were arrested just outside One Police Plaza after swiping merchandise from the store on Broadway and Chambers Street about three blocks away.

Cops confiscated two large Nike bags from the suspects.

Charges against them are pending.
