A creepy Metropolitan Museum of Art staffer was busted for upskirting at least six women — including a teen girl on an Upper East Side subway platform.
“It’s become an obsessive behavior in the last couple of years,” Met collections manager Fred Caruso, 62, allegedly told police who arrested him for the pervy conduct.
He said he’d secretly filmed at least 50 women, according to court papers.
He was caught April 27 after an eagle-eyed cop spotted him filming up the dress of a girl, who he admitted looked like she was between 15 and 17, on the 6 train platform at 86th St.
“I clicked it on and was holding it and trying to be nonchalant about it,” he allegedly told police. “My intent was a poor choice of amusement.”
Cops allegedly found images of five other women that were taken a few days earlier on his iPhone, including an upskirt shot snapped April 23 in front of the Met, where he’s worked for 23 years.
“I’m completely remorseful and mortified by my behavior,” he allegedly said. “I’m sorry. This is going to ruin my life. I’m married.”
Shortly before entering the courtroom Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, Caruso joined hands with friends and family in a prayer circle.
He faces six counts of felony unlawful surveillance and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Caruso is a collections manager in the storied museum’s Greek and Roman department, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He faces up to four years in prison if convicted of the top count.
Defense lawyer Kenneth Aronson said Caruso had pleaded not guilty to the charges. “We’re looking forward to a successful resolution,” the attorney added.
