Tens of thousands of fentanyl pills were seized last week as part of a multi-million-dollar drug bust in Westchester County, New York, authorities said Monday.

Carlos Vasquez, 28, was arrested in Hamilton, NJ, following the takedown in Mount Vernon on Wednesday and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, the US Drug Enforcement Administration said.

The New York Drug Enforcement Task Force found at least 25,000 fentanyl pills marked “M30” and 38 kilograms of other drugs, including heroin and cocaine, ready to be sold inside Vasquez’s Mount Vernon apartment, the feds said.

Authorities also seized $35,000 from a Yonkers’ residence with a search warrant.

“This seizure is indicative of how traffickers are making street drugs highly potent and highly addictive by adding fentanyl,” DEA Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan said. “This is a warning that local traffickers vary methods of distribution, some selling only fentanyl and some selling mixtures of fentanyl and other drugs.”
