Three people were seriously injured in a shooting early Tuesday at a party in an illegally rented home on Long Island, police said.

“There were several 911 calls about shots fired at a party,” Southampton Town police spokeswoman Lt. Susan Ralph said.

Officers who responded to 26 Long Springs Road in Southampton around 3 a.m. saw partygoers fleeing, Ralph said.

The three who had been shot were taken to Southampton Hospital by private means. One of them was later flown to Stony Brook University Hospital, she said.

“They were serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” Ralph said.

Police said the home had been rented for one night on Airbnb, but the online vacation property site said it wasn’t responsible for the listing when the shooting occurred. Town code mandates that all rentals are booked for at least two weeks, Ralph said.
