Police on Tuesday nabbed the violent homeless man who they say beat a woman unconscious and robbed her in front of her 4-year-old son.
Police are looking for this suspect.Derrick Chirse, who listed his home address as Kingsborough Star Men’s Shelter in Brooklyn, was arrested around 10 a.m. after a Department of Homeless Services peace officer recognized his wanted photo, which had been put out by cops, police said.
On Monday afternoon, Chirse, 57, had approached the 35-year-old mom and her young child while they were walking on 84th Street near Atlantic Avenue in Ozone Park, Queens, police said.
He demanded her money, then punched her in the face, head, chest and back until she was unconscious, police said.
Good Samaritans ran after Chirse — who made off with the woman’s purse — but lost sight of him after he climbed onto the roof of a CVS on Atlantic Avenue, police said.
He was charged with robbery, criminal possession of stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
