If he only had a taxi!

An upstate man dressed as the Tin Man from the “The Wizard of Oz” was busted driving drunk on the way home from a festival honoring the classic tale, according to a report Tuesday.

Nicholas E. Sherman, 31, of Cortland was hired to play the hollow character at the annual “OzStravaganza” fest in Chittenango on Sunday, police told Syracuse.com.

The blitzed actor hadn’t removed his silver makeup, when cops pulled him over and slapped him with aggravated DWI charges, the paper reported.

His blood alcohol content was .19, more than twice the legal limit, police said.

State police were first called to a home on Perryville Road in Sullivan after residents reported a intoxicated male on their property, cops said.

The village of Chittenango — the birthplace of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” author L.Frank Baum — holds the festival, which includes a parade and performances, to celebrated the story each year.

OzStravaganza organizers said Sherman wasn’t an “official” cast member.
