A 2-year-old boy was among two people shot in a Jersey City apartment building early Sunday morning, a city official told The Post.

The toddler was in an apartment on Myrtle Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood when a gunman opened fire soon after 2 a.m., city director of communications Kim Wallace-Scalcione said.

A 20-year-old woman was also shot, Wallace-Scalcione said. They were both rushed to an area hospital and are expected to recover.

The woman told police that she heard a knock at her door, and was shot after she opened it.

Police are investigating what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
