MONSEY, N.Y. — Suburban New York police say a toddler was killed when a closet shelf fell on him.

Ramapo police say the little boy died this week in Monsey. He apparently was playing with a sibling at the time.

Lt. Mark Emma calls it “a freak accident and a terrible, terrible tragedy.”
