A toddler boy was found alone in Battery Park City this morning, wandering around after his troubled mother was taken to the hospital, authorities said.

It took nine hours before the the adorable, 3-year-old tot was finally identified, officials said.

The boy had been discovered at 9:30 a.m. alone inside Teardrop Park, a 2-acre green space between Warren and Murray streets by North End Avenue, officials said.

His mother had been “taken to Bellevue earlier in the day as an emotionally disturbed woman,” a police source said.

It’s unclear whether the boy had wandered off from her before she was taken to the hospital or was abandoned, the source added.

Police and the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy had desseminated photos of the boy throughout the community to try to help identify him.

One police source said the child is currently in the care of the city’s Administration for Children’s Services. Another source said,”His grandmother is coming to pick him up.”
