That’s not flying ace Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger out on the Hudson River Saturday — it’s Tom Hanks, playing the hero of US Airways Flight 1549.
Afloat on the river last week are director Clint Eastwood and the crew of the film, currently titled “Sully,” based on Sullenberger’s memoir, “Highest Duty.”
The pilot became a national hero in January 2009 for making the first successful water landing of an airliner after it took off from La Guardia Airport and was crippled flying through a flock of geese. All 155 people on the jet survived.
