The death of the commander of an elite US Navy SEAL in Afghanistan is being investigated as a suicide, officials said yesterday.

Cmdr. Job Price, 42, of Pottstown, Pa., died Saturday of a noncombat related injury in central Afghanistan.

“This incident is . . . under investigation,” the Pentagon said.

Price, the commanding officer of SEAL Team Four, failed to show up for an event, and colleagues found him dead in his quarters.

NBC and CNN quoted officials as saying the death was being eyed as a possible suicide.
