The city Parks Department is feeling some heat over a totem.

Parks Department officials are believed to have removed a 12-foot totem carved into a fallen tree trunk in Prospect Park, outraging the voodoo-practicing Haitian immigrant who crafted it.

“It wasn’t a log anymore, it was a piece of art!” fumed artist Deenps Bazile, 57, who spent six months carving the totem, which was nearly completed until its disappearance about three weeks ago.

Bazile said the impressive pole featured various elements of his religion — including a snake and “third eye of god.”

He was planning to hoist it upright in the middle of a circle of tree stumps on which his dozen or so pals sit while lounging lakeside.

Parks said it was investigating the disappearance.
