The oil and gas industries insist that state law trumps local ordinances, but Deputy Senate Majority Leader Thomas Libous (R-Binghamton) got the message.
“I don’t see us drilling in places where the locals don’t want it,” he said last week before adding, “The point I was making is: Drill here first. We want it.”
