A day after parents at a Midtown elementary school raised a ruckus over Department of Education construction they believed was sickening their kids, officials said they will temporarily relocate the school to the Upper East Side.
For two years, starting this fall, kids from PS 51 on West 45th Street will be bused back and forth to leased space on East 91st.
The parents believe their kids’ headaches, nosebleeds and rashes were caused by dust from a long-term construction pit next to the school.
“The distance is a concern, but I think the general consensus is that parents want to do this,” said parent Tosh Anderson.
